The Glass Catacombs of Oros

Crossing Forbidden Ground

The sky above the basin offered no dawn, only the stagnant, swirling violet of a permanent eclipse. Two days after their initial catastrophic breach, and mere hours following their bitter defeat on the previous day, six proud Lions stood before the subterranean lower terraces of the Obsidian Ziggurat of Oros. The volcanic glass beneath their paws resonated with a low, unnatural vibration, echoing the gravitational instability that pulsed from the ziggurat's deepest heart. They knew the danger that awaited them; the memory of the previous attempt hung over them like a shroud, yet their confidence was not entirely extinguished. They stepped onto the shattered causeway, their armor gleaming against the dull, fractured light.

The air grew colder with every downward step, turning breath into frozen mist. Flakes of nebular ash drifted upwards from deep chasms, defying gravity as if pulled toward an inverse sky. Suspended gravity monoliths hovered silently along the passage, inscribed with fading glyphs of stardust that burned with faint indigo fire. Icetian led the vanguard alongside Aeroblade and Dynarion, while Goldspirit, Chromalio, and Goldarion secured the flanks. The sanctuary echoed with an eerie, muffled stillness that swallowed sound, rendering even the clatter of steel strangely muted.

Confronting the Starlit Void

As the six warriors crossed into the central observatory, the ambient shadows coalesced into a towering form. Cosmora the Astral Devourer stirred from the shattered altar, a grand entity woven of shifting nebular smoke and jagged, starlit bones surrounding a hollow, void-black core. Its terrifying hollow voice reverberated through the basalt chamber, declaring that mercy had ended long before they crossed its threshold.

Before Cosmora could channel its cosmic malevolence, Chromalio sprang forward with practiced grace, unleashing Shadow Piercer for 314 damage. The strike severed the entity's ethereal throat, binding Cosmora in absolute Silence. Seizing the opening, Icetian wove the healing currents of the Regeneration Of Maya, restoring 52 HP to fortify the line. Goldspirit roared into the quiet, striking for 410 damage through the Attack Of Panda, while Aeroblade drove forward for 272 damage and Dynarion hammered the boss's starry ribs for 260 damage. Goldarion stoked his inner hearth, invoking Rising Fury to swell his fighting spirit.

Unable to cast its abyssal magic due to Chromalio's blinding silence, Cosmora drifted helplessly as the Lions pressed their advantage. Aeroblade brought down Thunder Cleave with brilliant arc lightning for 158 damage, shocking the astral devourer and freezing its movements in space. Chromalio seized the window to sink a venomous blade in a Toxic Bite for 232 damage, lacing the monster's smoke with virulent decay. Goldarion landed a heavy strike for 73 damage, and Dynarion channeled the Regeneration Of Furry to renew his internal reserves.

The Shattering Well

Though Cosmora remained stunned by Aeroblade's crackling shock during the next pass, the Lions did not slow their onslaught. Poison coursed through the devourer's nebulous mass, ticking away its dark essence. Goldspirit channeled a monstrous surge of momentum, delivering a devastating, critical Toxic Bite for an astonishing 772 damage that sent bright green sparks through the ethereal core. Aeroblade followed with a critical Armor Breaker for 158 damage, sundering Cosmora's star-forged outer plates, while Dynarion added a second Toxic Bite for 120 damage and Chromalio slashed for 228 damage.

Then the atmospheric pressure plummeted. Cosmora's hollow core flared with terrifying intensity, collapsing the surrounding space in a sudden Gravity Well. The invisible force dragged every warrior inward, slamming them against the volcanic floor. Icetian bore the brunt of the gravitational crush, taking 16 damage from the pull before Cosmora's sweeping counter-assault shattered his remaining defenses, dealing a fatal blow that eliminated Icetian from the battle. Goldspirit took 75 damage from the force, Chromalio took 39 damage, Aeroblade and Goldarion took 35 damage each, and Dynarion suffered 21 damage.

Reeling from the loss of Icetian, the remaining five warriors fought to stabilize their footing. Goldspirit, Aeroblade, Chromalio, and Dynarion desperately cast Regeneration Of Maya, mending their fractured bones for 140 HP, 13 HP, 35 HP, and 84 HP respectively, while Goldarion struck Cosmora for 52 damage through the oppressive weight of the void.

The Reforged Line

Refusing to crumble, the five surviving Lions unleashed a fierce flurry of critical strikes. Goldspirit shattered a swirl of nebular bone with a critical hit for 593 damage. Aeroblade slashed through the core for a critical 241 damage, Chromalio struck critically for 368 damage, and Dynarion delivered a critical blow for 116 damage. Yet Cosmora's strength was vast; the boss regenerated its power, target-locking Chromalio and striking through his armor.

In the sixth exchange, Cosmora taunted the pride, declaring that the wounded belonged to its void. Another crushing Gravity Well rippled through the glass hall, ripping health from all five fighters once more. Goldspirit countered instantly, landing a critical blow for 601 damage, while Chromalio pressed for 251 damage and Aeroblade added 132 damage. Goldarion drew upon his last reserves of magic, casting Regeneration Of Maya to restore 268 HP and preserve his place on the frontline.

Cosmora retaliated with a wide void sweep across the chamber. Chromalio defended valiantly against the blast, but the sheer force proved too much; his armor crumbled, and he was eliminated after dealing a cumulative 1,433 damage across his battle run. Goldspirit answered the loss with a critical slash for 621 damage, Aeroblade struck critically for 217 damage, Dynarion added a critical 139 damage, and Goldarion clipped the boss's tail for 50 damage.
