The Eclipse of Oros: Fall of the Astral Devourer

I. Shadows Over the Abyss

The black glass floor of the Sanctum Abyss hummed with the residual resonance of yesterday's defeat. Fourteen times the warbands had descended into the subterranean heart of the Obsidian Ziggurat of Oros, and fourteen times the freezing, windless void had claimed their pride. Above, the unnatural eclipse hung like a bruised eye, casting fractured violet light across floating monoliths of volcanic glass.

Cosmora waited at the center of the void. A towering entity woven from nebular smoke and jagged starlit bones, its hollow core throbbed with gravitational instability. Ten deep, glowing persistent wounds scarred its celestial form—trophies etched by the claws of those who had fought and fallen the previous day. Seven Lions stepped onto the abyss floor, their breath freezing upon their armor. They carried no arrogance this time; only the bitter resolve of those who knew the taste of ash.

II. The Silence and the Storm

Before the Devourer could draw upon the crushing gravity of the abyss, Chromalio moved. Blade in hand, the shadow-stalker blurred forward, executing a flawless Shadow Piercer that struck the entity's core. A burst of silent force rippled outward, muting Cosmora's dark incantations and locking its jaws in temporal stillness.

Capitalizing on the opening, Aeroblade surged with Thunder Cleave, his arc of electricity shocking the star-bone frame and destabilizing its ethereal defense. The warband descended like a singular organism: Ignix, Goldspirit, and Dynarion delivered venomous strikes that seeped toxic corruption directly into Cosmora's shifting nebular hide. Neroth slashed deeply at the creature's limbs, dulling its offensive momentum. For three glorious movements, the Astral Devourer was bound, silenced, and bleeding starlight.

III. The Shattering Well

Control in the Sanctum Abyss was always an illusion. As the silence expired, Cosmora’s hollow core flared with furious radiance. The atmospheric pressure collapsed instantly. A massive Gravity Well ignited, dragging all seven Lions across the slick obsidian floor toward the singularity's crushing jaws.

The void claimed its toll. Neroth, already battered from shielding the frontline, was dragged into the core's direct focus. Cosmora's starlit talons descended without mercy, crushing Neroth’s defenses and snuffing out his vital spark in a flash of violet dust. The remaining Lions tumbled across the obsidian plain, bruised and breathless. Confidence shattered once more; the memory of fourteen failures rushed back like a cold tide.

IV. Reforged in the Void

From the brink of despair, Ignix stood tall. Raising his armaments high, he invoked the Forge Barrier, spreading a burning grid of protective runes across his surviving brethren. The glowing barrier blunted the suffocating pressure of the void, igniting an unyielding fire in the hearts of the warband.

What followed was a display of sheer, unadulterated fury. Goldspirit channeled the ancient spirit of dragons, striking for nearly a thousand damage in a single, roaring assault. Chromalio launched himself off a floating monolith, bringing his blades down in a devastating critical strike that shattered two of Cosmora's starlit ribs. Even as the Devourer unleashed a second, violent Gravity Well that cracked armor and drew blood from Goldarion and Dynarion, the Lions refused to yield ground.

V. Starlight Undone

The eighth movement opened with Cosmora unleashing a desperate, arena-wide blast of cosmic energy. The shockwave rattled the Ziggurat to its foundations, driving Aeroblade and Dynarion to their knees as their armor gave way. Yet Ignix immediately wove the Regeneration Of Maya, restoring his vigor while Goldspirit stepped into the epicenter of the blast.

With a final, blinding blow, Goldspirit drove his claw into the hollow gravity core. A soundless roar echoed through the Sanctum Abyss as Cosmora’s nebular body fractured. The starlit bones dissolved into shimmering dust, and the oppressive violet sky flickered as the gravitational grip on Oros finally snapped.

Round 4 of The Eclipse of Oros: Fall of the Astral Devourer — Round 4
