Shadows over the Fractured Archways
The gale blowing through the Star-Fall Observatory smelled of ozone, old copper, and the bitter ash of the previous day's defeat. Suspended over an endless violet abyss, the cyclopean marble platforms groaned on their decaying gravity-runes. Lightning flashed in jagged violet ribbons across the sky, illuminating tattered banners hanging limply from broken pillars. Here, upon the shattered threshold where so many had fallen twenty-four hours prior, six warriors of the pride stood once more. The serpentine monster they hunted was already wounded—two deep, persistent scars marred its dark armor from past battles—yet its malice remained unchecked.
With a sound like tearing iron, the Nethervoid Leviathan erupted from the mist. A towering, serpentine mass of coalesced void-matter, it shifted fluidly between swirling gloom and razor-sharp obsidian plates, its heart throbbing with an oppressive violet light. Before the warriors could anchor their boots on the slippery stone, the leviathan lashed out with an immediate full-scale assault. 'Let the whole army burn!' echoed through the cavernous sky as a shockwave of cold void energy swept across the platform.
Goldspirit caught the brunt of the blast, his armor splintering as he barely held his footing, while Darklyn took a critical strike that rattled his spine. Yet the pride did not break. Zahra immediately wove the Regeneration Of Maya, summoning blue light to seal her allies' fresh wounds. Seizing the momentary opening, Chromalio hurled himself forward, executing a flawless Shadow Piercer that jammed a blade of condensed shadow straight into the leviathan's maw, silencing its dark incantations. Darklyn capitalized instantly, channelling a blinding Radiant Burst for 749 damage that shattered a row of obsidian scales, while Dynarion and Goldspirit battered the creature's flank.
The Blinding Starlight
Gagged by Chromalio’s silencing mark, the Leviathan thrashed helplessly through the second movement of the siege. Toxic poison bled into its shadowy core as Goldspirit and Chromalio sank venomous fangs into its flanks. By the third round, however, the leviathan recovered its breath. It unleashed its dreadful Nethervoid Asphyxia, stealing the air directly from Chromalio’s lungs and leaving him momentarily voiceless.
The battle intensified into a furious trade of violent power. Zahra conjured her Shadow Twin Strike, her mirrored form dancing across the floating marble to confuse the beast's sight. Sensing the Leviathan turning its gaze toward Goldarion, Goldspirit channeled the raw essence of dragons, leaping into the tempest to deliver a staggering Dragon's Fury strike for 911 damage. The impact sheared away dense obsidian plating, scattering dark shards into the bottomless abyss below.
Seeing the creature gathering dark power to obliterate the party, Dynarion stepped into the center of the gravimetric ley-line. He raised his weapon and drove a Blinding Spear directly into the monster's pulsating violet core. Brilliant white radiance flared out, blinding the void-serpent completely. For an entire round, the leviathan thrashed uselessly against empty air. The pride seized the opportunity, unleashing a simultaneous flurry: Zahra, Goldspirit, Goldarion, Darklyn, Chromalio, and Dynarion all landed devastating strikes in unison, driving the legendary beast to the verge of collapse.
Blood upon the Floating Stone
Cornered and desperate, the Leviathan broke free of its blindness and lashed back with terrifying ferocity. Its cold gaze locked onto Zahra. With a blinding speed that defied its colossal size, its obsidian tail slammed into her midsection, crushing her against a fractured marble archway. Zahra collapsed, her vitality extinguished instantly as the platform trembled.
A heavy silence settled over the surviving vanguard, broken only by the crackle of thunder. Darklyn found himself choked by residual asphyxia, unable to invoke his radiant magic while the Leviathan swept the area with another massive tail-swipe. Armor crumpled; blood splashed upon ancient gravity-runes. Goldspirit hastily invoked the Regeneration Of Maya to keep his allies standing, but the void monster was relentless.
In the ninth round, the Leviathan focused its remaining power on Chromalio. Despite attempting to defend himself behind his armguards, Chromalio was overwhelmed by the crushing pressure of dark matter and was thrown into the endless storm. Moments later, as the tenth round began, the beast whirled and struck down Dynarion, reducing the pride’s raiding party to half its original strength.
Only three warriors remained standing amidst the swirling purple embers: Goldspirit, Darklyn, and Goldarion. With Dynarion's final breath still echoing across the stone, Goldspirit summoned every ounce of his remaining strength and drove a critical strike deep into the Leviathan's throbbling core for 580 damage. Goldarion and Darklyn pressed the advantage, their weapons biting deep into the tearing void-matter until, with a sound like shattering glass, the Nethervoid Leviathan collapsed into a harmless cloud of dissipating smoke.
Silence fell over the Star-Fall Observatory, save for the hum of the ancient runes. The surviving trio stood exhausted, surrounded by the remnants of a hard-won victory. From the shattered vault beneath the leviathan's nest, they reclaimed the massive treasure trove built from previous failures alongside new spoils. The total payout for their triumph reached an extraordinary 41304 PIXY. Among the recovered hoards were priceless relics lost in past defeats, including a rare Steel Weapon Plan, a glowing flask of Vital Essence, a gleaming Ruby, a rare Pearl, and a crucial set of Tempered Armor Plate, ensuring that the heavy sacrifices of Zahra, Chromalio, and Dynarion would forever pave the way for the pride's future glory.
Only when the tumult over Star-Fall Observatory had fallen silent did the material consequence become clear: the raid treasury released exactly 41304 PIXY, while Zahra bore ⚙️ Repair Fittings away from the ruins. The reward was no ledger entry, but a tangible mark left by the ordeal.
