The Drowning of the Obsidian Ridge

Beneath the shadow of Poseidros, six souls confront the crushing weight of the abyss.

The Drowning of the Obsidian Ridge

The Gathering Storm

The Obsidian Ridge did not welcome the living. It was a jagged spine of cooled magma, slicked by the spray of an impossible storm that defied the logic of the horizon. Poseidros the Abyssal Tyrant stood at the summit, a looming nightmare of churning water and rusted iron. The very air grew heavy, pregnant with the intent of the abyss, as the six Lions arrived, their resolve hardening against the oppressive violet lightning that fractured the dark sky.

The Tyrant’s voice, a cacophony of grinding tectonic plates and rushing currents, echoed through the peaks. He claimed dominion over the storm, and as the battle opened, the pressure became a physical weight. The initial clash saw Neroth, Stellarmane, and Skyguard standing firm against the first deluge, their armor ringing under the bombardment. Even as their defenses buckled, Darklyn and Chromalio unleashed devastating counter-strikes that illuminated the ridge in sharp, jagged silhouettes.

The Fracturing Tide

As the second movement commenced, the tide turned with cruel efficiency. The Tyrant’s Abyssal Torrent began its rhythmic dismantling of the group’s formations. Neroth fell first, his regeneration unable to compensate for the relentless, defense-shredding pressure of the sea. Beside him, Skyguard suffered a similar fate, silenced by the crushing depth of the tyrant’s onslaught. The landscape, once starkly beautiful in its obsidian austerity, became a theater of fading lights.

Stellarmane fought with the fury of a wounded beast, drawing upon the ancient energies of Maya to keep his failing allies afloat. But the Tyrant was overcharged, his power reserves surging as he drained the very air of warmth. Goldarion’s rising fury was a brilliant flicker in the darkness, a desperate attempt to reclaim the initiative, but for every step forward, the mountain seemed to lean further into the abyss, pushing them back toward the jagged edge.

The Echo of Resilience

By the third and fourth rounds, the unity of the Lions had fractured into isolated acts of defiance. Stellarmane, pushed to his limit, tapped into the primal essence of the furry to bolster his own spirit, while Goldarion and Darklyn continued their assault on the Tyrant’s liquid armor. The mountain shook, the obsidian glass groaning under the strain of the conflict. Every strike delivered was a testament to their persistence, yet the Tyrant stood, a manifestation of the ocean’s eternal, indifferent cruelty.

The Final Deluge

The fifth movement brought silence to the periphery. Chromalio, having weathered the brunt of the storm for as long as his spirit allowed, finally succumbed, his form dissipating into the mist. Darklyn and Goldarion remained, a last pair of flickering flames against the encroaching tide. The Tyrant’s words, now barely a whisper of destruction, signaled the end of the resistance as he forced a final, devastating wave over the summit.

In the sixth round, the storm reached its zenith. The Tyrant stood alone upon the ridge, his form still pulsing with the captured electricity of the battle. Goldarion and Darklyn, exhausted and stripped of their defenses, fell to the final assault, leaving the Obsidian Ridge in a state of absolute, oppressive stillness. The storm had answered only to the Tyrant, and on this day, it had claimed everything.

Round 4 of The Drowning of the Obsidian Ridge
Round 4

The victory of Poseidros the Abyssal Tyrant left the Obsidian Ridge transformed into a graveyard of rusted metal and scattered debris. The payout total remained at 0, reflecting the brutal reality of a defeat that denied the victors their bounty. As the storm began to recede, the silence that fell over the volcanic peaks was heavier than the thunder that had preceded it.

Loot recovered from the wake of the battle included 5000 units of Iron, 500 units of Wood, and rare artifacts such as a single 💗 Vital Essence and an uncommon Cotton Canvas. These spoils were not claimed by the fallen, but were added to the boss's massive, growing hoard, destined to remain within the depths of the Tyrant’s icy reach until a new force rises to challenge the tide.
