The Opening Tremor
The air above the Steppe of Silent Monoliths tasted of ozone and pulverized iron, a metallic tang that signaled the onset of a gathering storm. Ten Lions moved across the amber grasses, their boots marking the churned earth as they approached the epicenter. Gorath the World Breaker waited, a mountain of animated strata rooted in the bedrock. The titan did not watch with eyes; he felt the resonance of their approach through the ground itself. 'I have measured your champion,' the boss rumbled, his voice like the grinding of tectonic plates deep beneath the surface.
The confrontation ignited with a violent surge. Gorath brought his weight down in a Tectonic Slam, a concussive shockwave that rippled through the soldiers. Amidst the chaos, Darklyn channeled a blinding Radiant Burst, the white light searing into the titan’s seams for 844 damage. The air hummed with the magical echo of her buff, while Goldspirit, Artisano, and the others sought fissures in the basalt hide. Despite the precision of their strikes, the titan’s armor held, his mineral-rich blood leaking into the grass as he channeled the earth’s own kinetic energy to suppress the tide of warriors.
The Attrition of Stone
By the fourth round, the battlefield had morphed into a graveyard of broken defenses. The constant grinding of the Tectonic Slam tore through the formation with surgical indifference. When the titan descended upon the army, the shockwave proved too much for the vanguard to sustain. In a single, brutal moment, the critical force of the impact claimed Artisano, Verdantfear, and Aeroblade, pulling them into the churned dust as the ground buckled beneath their feet. The survivors, led by Goldspirit and Chromalio, pivoted to mending arts, weaving the green threads of Maya to patch their tattered mail, yet the earth continued to groan in defiance of their presence.
The poison dealt by Chromalio seeped into the titan’s veins, yet the boss remained an insurmountable obstacle. By the sixth round, the weight of the conflict reached a breaking point. Gorath mocked their persistence, his voice resonating through the valley: 'Your strongest blow changes nothing.' As Darklyn fell under the pressure of a final, crushing tremor, the formation shattered. Goldspirit stood as the last sentinel against the mountain, utilizing a Mist Veil to strike for a final, desperate burst of damage, but his efforts were soon silenced by the relentless, rhythmic reclamation of the Steppe.
In the eighth round, the silence finally claimed the field. Goldspirit was the last to be forced into the amber grass, his weapons falling from his grip as the final tectonic shockwave collapsed the ground beneath him. The raid ended in total defeat; no victory was snatched from the World Breaker, and no treasure was yielded to the fallen. The Steppe returned to its cold, geological vigil.
The violet storm continued its relentless trek across the bruised horizon, the whistling wind erasing the echoes of the struggle. Gorath remained rooted at the heart of his monoliths, his hide scarred but ultimately unbroken. He began the slow, rhythmic process of incorporating the steel, the dropped supplies, and the remnants of the vanguard into the ever-expanding strata of his mineral hoard. The mountain stood silent once more, waiting for the next tremor of life to challenge the unyielding weight of the world.
